Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a computational model that gradually acquires the meaning of Japanese sentence-final particles representing mental attitudes by utilizing the scaffolding of a dialogue partner. The robot learns to memorize names of fruits, nod, express empathy, etc. according to utterances such as ringo da yo. ‘This is an apple.’, oishi souda ne. ‘It looks delicious.’. Depending on the learning progress of the robot, the utterance of the partner changes. We thus designed the robot to detect the change and reconstruct the state space of the learning.
