Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we investigated ultrasonic guided wave all-around inspection of aluminium pipes with defects using high temperature superconducting (HTS) SQUID gradiometer and magnetostrictive sensors (MsS), which utilized pre-magnetized nickel thin plates. While rotating the sample pipes for every 30 degree, T(0, 1) mode guided wave-induced magnetic signals were measured by the gradiometer set above pre-magnetized nickel plate fimly glued around the pipes with lift-off of about 3 mm. Measurement results shows that in case of the sample with a slit at 0 degree, the magnetic signal reflected at the slit around 0 degrees were stronger than those at the other angles. However, magnetic signals due to incident wave and reflected wave at ends of the pipes also varied at angles. We investigated the reason of the change of the magnetic signals at angles and concluded that distribution of the magnetization of the nickel plates at the transmitter/receiver of the MsSs were not uniform, partly due to diamagnetic field of the plates. |
