Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Switching power supply circuits have salient features of small size, light weight and high efficiency, and so they were originally developed for use with space satellites. Today, they are used as a power source for almost every kind of electronic equipment, such as communication equipment, information equipment, portable equipment, in-vehicle equipment, lighting equipment, etc. However, in the switching power supply circuit, since the steep ON/OFF operation of the switching element is repeated at high frequencies, the switching power supply circuit itself generates and spreads the switching noise around the periphery as conducted and/or radiated noise, which may cause a malfunction of the device. In this section, we first explain the switching noise generation mechanism in the switching power supply circuits, and then some noise reduction technology including recent research examples.
