Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We designed a single-flux-quantum (SFQ) based 64-ch event-driven encoder, which can obtain both the spatial and temporal information simultaneously, for a single-photon imaging system using a superconducting nanowire signal photon detector (SSPD), and improved a package of the SFQ chip for stable operation of the circuits in a 0.1-W Gifford-McMahon (GM) cryocooler. The designed SFQ-based encoder has 64-input ports and can handle a 64-pixel SSPD array. The critical currents of Josephson junctions (JJs) of the SFQ-based encoder were reduced to as half as the conventional design for reduction of the DC bias currents for the SFQ circuits. The total number of JJs is 2550 and the required bias currents are less than 200 mA. However, the operation of the circuits was unstable because of the Joule heat. In this article, we report the design of the 64-ch SFQ-based event-driven encoder and the experimental results of the circuits using an improved package for the SFQ chip in a 0.1-W GM cryocooler. |
