Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cone photoreceptors convert the retinal image into electrical signals. Cones show the maximum light sensitivities to either long(L), medium(M), or short(S) wavelength, which mediate color vision. The cones are forming a distinctive spatial arrangement on the retina, a cone mosaic. When light passes through the eye optics, the retinal image is blurred by aberrations. However, the relationship between the influence of aberrations and visual information processing has not been fully elucidated. We developed a mathematical model of the cone mosaic with eye optics, based on the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the cones. By using this model, we analayzed the influence of aberration on the visual processing.
