Output Power Enhancement by Optical Pulse Compression in Photonic-Based Sub-THz Generation

Abstract(in English) Microwave and millimeter-wave generation based on photonic technology is promising for many applications. In this technique, RF output power is limited by the maximum optical power to the photo detector. We proposed to use optical pulse compression in order to enhance the RF output power and confirmed the 20-GHz and 60-GHz output power enhancement. In this manuscript, we examine a possibility of sub-THz output power enhancement with DSF and HNLF. We made an estimation of the condition to obtain maximum RF gain by scaling law of GNLSE and RF gain simulation by calculating GNLSE.
