| Abstract(in English) | It has been desired for aeronautical surveillance system to provide aircraft positions with high performance compared with conventional radar. WAM (Wide Area Multilateration) using TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) localization is able to achieve the high performance and has been implemented worldwide. In this TDOA localization, position error increases rapidly outside the receiver collocation. So WAM receiver stations are generally collocated as surrounding the target coverage. However cost escalation as the number of receiver increasing becomes a major issue in WAM since WAM coverage tends to be expanded in recent years. As a solution for these challenges, it has been reported that TSOA (Time Sum of Arrival) localization is effective. This paper compares receiver constellations for expanding coverage between TSOA and TDOA localization based on position accuracy horizontal distributions by computer simulation. |
