| Abstract(in English) | After graduating from university, the author has been within the field of wireless communications. Initially he has been with the mobile communication laboratory of Yokosuka Electrical Communication Laboratory, NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation). At that time, it was in the final stage of the development of land mobile radio communication system. The system was successfully put into commercial use in December 1979. At the opening ceremony, Tokuji Akikusa, President of NTT talked with Ms. Meiko Nakamura over the brand new system. From that moment huge leap was found in the R&D activities on mobile radio communications including the development of handy terminals called "it{mova}". Within these movements, the author was involved in the development of such systems as the small/middle scale cities land mobile communications system, high-speed paging system, RZSSB (Real-Zero Single Side Band) narrow band digital communication system, GMSK (Gaussian filtered MSK) modulation，PHS (Personal Handy phone System). Also he experienced some basic research of IMT-2000. Activities from pure basic research to development were precious experience to him. After the retirement of NTT, he moved to a university. The author thanks to those who have shared the experiences including university students. He also thanks to have a chance to talk about his experiences in the field of wireless communications and views for the future. |
