Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 5G mobile communication networks (5G) are expected to provide a wide range of new emerging services through flexible communication with high data rates and lower network latencies. In 5G, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) is one of enabling key technologies to contribute the performance improvement for various use case scenarios. The MEC servers are deployed at edges of mobile networks, e.g., on base stations, and enable to provide new services to users. Unlike the conventional end-to-end communication, the MEC makes flexible communication between a client and a server. Although various approaches for MEC have been proposed through mathematical and simulation models so far, there are few reference model for MEC implementation. In this paper, to contribute advancement for MEC research, we then propose a reference model for MEC implementation which presents a function of scalable traffic steering between a client and a server. The function is implemented with matured DNS and IP routing manners, and it provides stateless and distributed control solutions. Also, a primitive evaluation showed the feasibility of our proposed mechanism.
