Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control used in an inverter to drive a motor consists of switching devices such as Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT), and the impulse noise occurs by the switching operation of such devices. The negative impact of the impulse noise is the communication quality degradation at communication devices existing near the source of the impulse noise. Since the number of switching operations concerns the occurrence frequency of impulse noise, we have to reduce the number of switching operations of PWM. We focus on PWM with duty ratio of 50% when the drive signal is 0V. In such a case, there is no problem even if the carrier frequency sets to lower frequency. At first, we describe the principle of PWM generation method to reduce the number of switching operations. Next, we propose the following three carrier frequency changing methods used for PWM, Carrier frequency changing method by phase position of drive signal, Carrier frequency changing method by level of drive signal and Carrier frequency changing method by according to power supplied to load. Among three our proposal, Carrier frequency changing method by according to power supplied to load is the most effective.
