Abstract(in English) | It is a still big social issue these days to find people who have disappeared because of getting lost in unexpected situation like disaster. To search such lost people in areas where humans and ground vehicles cannot easily step into like disaster-damaged areas, the integrated system of the mobility of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the computation power of edge servers has been studied as a promising solution for that. Althogh many prior works have studied on how to efficiently cover the survey area, time consumed for data collection and processing has not been taken into consideration; the usefulness of the information that the user finally obtains has not been evaluated. Therefore, in search by UAVs using edge computing, this report proposes scheduling technique that maximizes the user's utility in consideration of UAV and edge processing time. The efficiency of collecting data by UAVs (collecting efficiency) and the interval of obtaining results from analyzed data are used as the user's utility. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by evaluating the usefulness of the information obtained by the user, which is measured by i) the number of information pieces obtained within a certain period and ii) the freshness of individual obtained piece of information. |
