| Abstract(in English) | In this study, we aim for a supporting system which uses the spelling of already known words as hints for memorizing new vocabulary items. Many measures for calculating similarity of strings has proposed. It is necessary to determine the best similarity measures for designing the system we are aiming for. We investigated the number of words our method could suggest to second language learners using three existing string similarity measures, and report on the results of creating a word list of unknown/known word pairs with similar spelling in practice. |
