Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a scheme of integrated position localization using BLE and camera to acquire the personal position and personal ID while identifying individuals in indoor environments. Global positioning system (GPS) is widely used as a wireless technology for position localization. However, its accuracy is not enough guaranteed under indoor environments, so it is required to realize a position estimation system for indoor environment instead of GPS. As an indoor localization technique, an image processing technology using a camera image is an effective tool in terms of its estimation accuracy. However, it is not always allowed to realize personal identification by face authentication from the viewpoint of privacy protection. On the other hand, although position localization by wireless technology has a disadvantage that the accuracy is lower than that of the camera, ID information can acquire under the premise that a user permits to radiate beacons. Then, this paper proposes an indoor localization system that complements each other's disadvantages by unifying camera image and wireless technology, and perform highly accurate individual identification. We utilize Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for wireless signals from the viewpoint of penetration rate, low power consumption, and personal identification.
