Abstract(in English) | A ?ΣAD modulator with passive adder embedded quantization noise feedback (QNF) SAR quantizer is proposed in this paper. QNF SAR ADC can feedback the shaped quantization noise and realize an additional 1st-order noise shaping by noise coupling technique. Two integrators in the ?ΣAD modulator are realized with one amplifier by the amplifier sharing technique. As a result, the 3rd-order ?ΣAD modulator is realized by one amplifier and the QNF SAR ADC. The SPICE simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed 3rd-order ?ΣAD modulator in 90nm CMOS technology. Simulated SNDR of 87.72dB is achieved while a sinusoid -4.67dBFS input is sampled at 100MS/s and the bandwidth is BW=3.125MHz. The power consumption of the analog part in the modulator is 2.53mW while the supply voltage is 1.2V. |
