A Study on Hand Gesture Recognition and Tracking using Random Forest and Median Flow

Abstract(in English) Recently, many interactive art works have been produced using a projector-camera system. To exhibit table-top type works, in a dark and high-ceiling venue, it is necessary to establish a hand gesture recognition method using an infrared camera capable of shooting with a varifocal lens. In this study, we propose a hand gesture recognition and tracking method using Co-occurrence Histograms of Oriented Gradients (CoHOG), Random Forest and Median Flow. We report the results of evaluation on its tracking performance by bounding box evaluation.
