Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The study on the development of high-function and high-performance device and sensors is very active. The attenuated total reflection method utilizing surface plasmon (SP) excitation, that is, the SP resonance (SPR) method is quite useful for evaluation of organic thin films and applications to the organic devices and sensors. We have performed various kinds of studies about evaluation of nanostructured organic thin films and application to devices and sensors utilizing the excitation of SPR so far. In this paper, metal grating is used for the excitation of SPR, and the peaks induced by the SPR were observed in the transmitted light spectra. Then, the intensity and the wavelength of the SPR peaks were used for the transmission SPR (TSPR) measurements, and the application to high-sensitivity sensors utilizing the TSPR was reported.
