Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this research, in order to improve speech intelligibility for a listener under the noisy environment, we propose a technique to modify source speech based on a speech processing. To improve the speech intelligibility, spectral shaping and dynamic range compression (SSDRC) has been proposed. Although this technique makes it possible to significantly improve the speech intelligibility of the speech in the noisy environment, various problems such as low flexibility of the spectral control and causing bad effect of voice timbre still remains. In this research, we focus on the lombard speech, has higher speech intelligibility compared to normal speech. We propose a technique to convert the normal speech into the lombard speech based on voice conversion based on direct waveform modification. Subjective experimental evaluation demonstrated that the proposed method is superior to the conventional method in speaker similarity, though the proposed method is inferior to the conventional method in terms of the speech quality and speech intelligibility.
