Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Visually induced motion sickness (VIMS) has been reported as a negative result that leads to dizziness and/or nauseous feelings due to an increase of the opportunities to view 3D video clips. In previous research, the body equilibrium system could be affected by peripheral viewing of the video clip whose visual target, a sphere, had a reciprocating motion between the proximal and the distal position complexly. In this study, two video clips were prepared as visual stimuli with periodic motion of the viewpoint. In the video clip, the reciprocating motion of the sphere is constructed on moving/static coordinate system synchronized/unsynchronized from the viewpoint. 116 healthy male and female voluntarily participated in this study to evaluate the influence of these visual stimuli on the body equilibrium system by the stabilometry. Subjects peripherally viewed these video clips for 1 min after which they closed their eyes for the next 1 min, while maintaining the Romberg posture throughout the 2 min. Based on the stabilogram, the area of sway, total locus length, total locus length per unit area, and sparse density were calculated out. As a result, severity of the influence of the synchronized stimulus is greater compared to the others. |
