Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, because of development of the automated driving system called ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance System), the automotive network not only with conventional serial bus communication protocols such as CAN (Control Area Network) and FlexRay, but also with Ethernet techniques has been attracting attention. EthernetAVB (Audio/Video Bridging) is expected as one of promising techniques for realization of high-reliability and low-latency communication on Ethernet. In contrast, there have been several researches on transport protocol realizing low-latency communication (low-latency TCP) in data-center networks. It is not impossible construct experiment environments which support communication protocols including EthernetAVB and law-latency TCP. However, it is difficult to construct experiment environments for complex automotive networks comprised by a lot of ECUs (Electronic Control Unit). In this paper, we propose a network emulator for automotive networks called ATINET (AuTomotive IP NETwork emulator), which emulates automotive IP network environments considering EthernetAVB (802.1Qav) at layer-2 and ECN (RFC 3168) at layer-3 by using network virtualization techniques in Linux operating system. In addition, by performing several experiments while changing the bandwidth allocated for the priority class and clock speed of CPU in a physical computer running the ATINET, we investigate how accurately ATINET emulates the automotive IP network environments.
