Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A holographic storage system with digital holographic techniques has been proposed in order to realize large storage capacity by making use of the amplitude and the phase of a beam. The introduction of digital holographic techniques to holographic data storage brings some advantages such as improving light efficiency, reducing crosstalk noise, and implementing multilevel recording, which are known as technical difficulties in conventional holographic data storage. This study reveals the significance of the use of both the amplitude and the phase in holographic data storage, and the proposed system would contribute the development of large-capacity holographic data storage.
