Abstract(in English) | Recently, to study human higher brain functions, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) , based on Blood-Oxygenation-Level-Dependen (BOLD) effect, is widely used. However, its temporal resolution is not sufficient, since it detects hemodynamic changes following neural activities. Spin-lock sequence has been studied as an alternative fMRI to directly detect neural magnetic fields as MR signal attenuation due to magnetic resonance. We examined the spin-lock sequence by phantom experiments using 0.3 T MRI measuring magnetic fields generated from a dipole electrode in a biological phantom and studied influence of the initial phase of the measured magnetic fields on the magnetization using a 0.3 T MRI scanner. Consequently, we demonstrate the feasibility of measurement of neural functional connectivity with low-field MRI. |
