Data Extraction for Data-embedded Printed Image Arranged at Arbitrary Positions

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a data extraction method from plural data-embedded images arbitrarily arranged on a printed matter. In this case, a frame for detecting and correcting an objective image from a captured image is added to the data-embedded image. The frame makes a key for the detection of the image. In the frame detection, miss-detection by finding objects similar to a part of the frame and capturing the plural data-embedded images in the image should be prevented and the data from the plural data-embedded images in the captured image should be extracted. In this paper, we propose a new frame detection method in which the frame is detected as a rectangle made by 4 sides. The width of the frame is also considered to prevent miss-detection. In addition, a detection method for the direction of the data-embedded image is exploited. Through the experimental results, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
