Abstract(in English) | Tunable laser technologies based on chirped sampled grating distributed reflector (CSG-DR) are reviewed mainly from a viewpoint of application to coherent transmission systems. The operating principle and the performances together with the fabrication technologies are introduced, and an advanced feature of fast wavelength switching capability is shown. Future prospect is also discussed with some examples considering the recent trends of market and technologies toward smaller footprint and less power consumption. |
