[Poster Presentation] Acoustic Communications Employing Spread Spectrum Using Inaudible Frequency Band

Abstract(in English) This paper discusses basic performance of spread spectrum communications for acoustic communications. This spread spectrum acoustic communications are based on commercial speakers. It is desired to achieve the acoustic communication using audible frequency band considering the frequency response of the speaker. On the other hand, it is desired to achieve the acoustic communication using inaudible frequency band considering the uncomfortableness to the human in communication areas. Firstly, computer simulation results confirm that the spread spectrum acoustic communication using inaudible frequency band has almost same performance in BER (Bit Error Rate) as using audible frequency band. In addition, experimental results using commercial speaker compare the performance of using inaudible frequency band and using audible frequency band and it also confirms that using inaudible frequency band do not so much deteriorate compared to using audible frequency band.
