Reciprocity theorem and accuracy of numerical analysis on scattering fields by dielectric gratings

Abstract(in English) In the grating theory, the second Green identity yields the energy balance and reciprocity. Many analytical methods have been applied to the scattering problem of gratings, and their methods often use the energy balance for numerical check. However, in the gratings having lossy media, the diffraction solutions do not satisfy the energy balance. This paper deals with multilayered dielectric gratings having lossy media. Applying the shadow theory to the matrix eigenvalues method, we consider that the reciprocity error can be used as an accuracy evaluation.
