Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For researchers and engineers, English ability within their technical fields is required. It could be easily considered that the most efficient way to learn technical English would be to learn technical English only instead of general English such as for TOEIC requirements. However, there has been little quantitative research regarding this. Therefore, in this work, we simulate these situations using computing. The simulation is focused on only vocabulary learning. As a result of simulations, if a first year university student knows 6,000 general English vocabularies and then learns only general or technical English vocabularies (2 virtual situations), then the ratio of the vocabulary learning efficiency for reading new technical English documents becomes 30 times.
