High-quality Network-friendly Energy-efficient Field Monitoring System

Abstract(in English) This paper introduces a “high-quality”, “network-friendly”, and “energy-efficient” field monitoring system. This system firstly detects the monitoring field conditions by using multi-modal sensors and high-resolution surveillance cameras. From the detection result, the system adaptively controls a sensor’s transmission frequency and an encoding rate of surveillance camera. This rate adaptation can efficiently reduce redundant video traffic and sensor’s energy consumption.
