Application of the FDTD Aglgorithm with Envelope Method to Optical Analysis of Organic Photovoltaics

Abstract(in English) We performed optical simulations using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to investigate the moth eye antireflection for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). When the FDTD simulation is applied to OPVs, the FDTD results show oscillatory response due to the existence of glass substrate. We investigated an algorithm, which we refer to as the envelope method, to remove this type of oscillation and obtain correct optical response. The results showed that the photocurrent of OPVs can be obtained quite accurately using the envelope method, and that the envelope algorithm can be used to optimize the geometric pattern of moth eye to increase the photocurrent of OPVs.
