| Abstract(in English) | Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is expected to enable reduction of latency in communication and offload of data processing to computational resources placed close to user equipment. While use cases such as connected car, contents delivery, image processing, etc. have been already identified viable, they focus on the advantages of low latency and computation offload. However we posit that there are the other benefits in MEC that have not been identified that should need further studies. In this paper, we first survey the existing literatures for clarifying problems and the solutions. Then, we point out new advantages of MEC from the stand points of: (1) Data Scalability, (2) Application Scalability, (3) Intent Driven Network, and (4) Offloading Network Functionality. |
