On the Viewpoint and Approach of Service Design in the IoT Era

Abstract(in English) So far, information system architecture has been developed including various concepts such as open downsizing, B to B and Ubiquitous since its arising. It could be mentioned that "entropy" of systems including these conceptual elements has continued to monotonically expand since the beginning. Against this entropy expansion, architecture and data standardization such as Enterprise Architecture has played a dominant role to establish the governance for them. However, these standardization efforts seem not to be effective sufficiently in the practical cases to the penetration of explosive Internet of Things (IoT) in recent years. Therefore, the new attempts to build an improved governance are also emerging to extend the covered scope for IoT. For example, that is an active design approach in which the boundary and the configuration of an information system is reconfigurable according to “captured events and formularizing relationships among these events”, instead of an existing passive approach with importing data from vast numbers of sensors merely. In this paper, we point out that the above situation is related to self-multiplication by "management revolution through application of knowledge to knowledge". In addition, we propose a framework of engineering as a specific solution guideline newly, because of some observed limitations in current and conventional software engineering. We hope to co-create the next generation of the framework of designing and governance methods by sharing these concepts in order to cope the increase and grows of information explosively.
