Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventionally, Quality of Service (QoS) has been used as an index for evaluating communication services. QoS is, however, a service quality indicator that is used as objective evaluation by service providers, and Quality of Experience (QoE) is attracting considerable attention as a quality evaluation indicator instead of QoS. Since it is the user who actually uses the services, QoE that is subjectively evaluated by the users is considered to be more suitable. Commonly subjective evaluation experiments are carried out to measure QoE. However, subjective evaluation QoE for every service use occasion imposes the users a great load. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate QoE without every subjective evaluation. In this research, we focus on a physiological index to estimate QoE for video streaming services. The video streaming services sometimes suffer quality degradation such as playback stop and resolution degradation. While the playback stop is due to time consuming for buffering, the resolution degradation is due to exhaustion of network throughput. These quality degradation may cause user stress and QoE deterioration. In this paper, we describe the subjective evaluation experiments conducted to investigate the relationship between stress and QoE. The analysis results of the obtained experimental data showed that there is a tendency for physiological index and QoE for each genre of video.
