[Technology Exhibit] A Prototype Implementation of Color-based Cooperative Cache with Chunking Contents Delivery

Abstract(in English) Internet traffic has rapid growth due to the wide spread of Video-on-Demand services. We previously proposed a light-weight management scheme for Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) by introducing color-tags, which efficiently reduces the traffic according to the software-based simulations. Since it is expected to use our color-based scheme in industrial purposes, this paper confirms its feasibility by implementing a prototype of a CDN system with the color-based cooperative cache. Moreover, we also demonstrate that a chunk-based caching scheme efficiently stores popular scenes of video files even if their whole file sizes exceed cache capacity.
