Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, expectations for large-scale wireless sensor networks have been rapidly increased due to miniaturization, cost reduction, reduction in power consumption of wireless sensor devices, and emergence of wireless sensor network applications such as IoT (Internet Of Things). Frame aggregation is a technique to bundle multiple frames into a single frame to reduce the number of frame transmissions, hoping that higher effective throughput can be realized. In the literature, the impact of frame aggregation in IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.11ac has been investigated. However, to the best of our knowledge, the effectiveness of frame aggregation in large-scale IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor networks has not been well understood. In this paper, we therefore model a large-scale IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor network with frame aggregation by extending our fluid model. Through numerical examples, we investigate the effectiveness of frame aggregation at intermediate nodes under different message generation rates from sensor nodes and the degree of frame aggregation.
