Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When trouble comes, we often try to implement a workaround as a temporal solution. This approach is generally useless to fix the trouble. In troubleshooting process it is effective to make visible the root cause and its corresponding solution of problems that a customer faces but unnoticed. We call the root cause “latent needs.” We aim for constructing latent needs visualization agent which contributes to improve troubleshooting efficiency. In this paper, we focus on IT troubleshooting in our university as a case study. We use Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic model to find how “queries from users” associate to “causes of troubles” in our university’s IT helpdesk records. We then show that it can be discovered association rules related to “latent needs.”
