Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the adaptive bitrate video streaming services for mobile terminals, quality degradation leads not only to the deterioration of QoE, but also a decrease in engagement, such as play time and service cancellation, which is a serious problem for service providers. We assume a hierarchical causal relationship between engagement, user manipulation behavior, application quality, and service factors, and propose to clarify this framework of engagement evaluation. In this paper, we conducted a viewing experiment of adaptive bitrate video streaming in order to clarify the relationship between application quality and user manipulation behavior. As a result, as a quality index showing a correlation of medium or higher with the number of user pause times, the buffering time, the number of buffering events, and the rate of buffering events were extracted. And also, as a quality index showing a correlation of medium or higher with the number of user resolution reduction times, the buffering time and the number of bitrate decrease times were extracted.
