Abstract(in English) From demands on water-saving for agriculture, plant-based precision irrigation technology is required. In this study soil was focused on as water sources. It is not appropriate to use single point of soil moisture as irrigation index because soil moisture varies spatially inside plant root zone. This study aims to extract prerequisites based on a case study of multipoint soil moisture measurement. In utilizing soil moisture sensor array for crop production, it is necessary to have multi-point soil moisture near the wetting front for irrigating control. It also need to have high resolution soil moisture sensing and moisture transfer model parameters for prediction of soil moisture dynamics.
