Abstract(in English) | Nowadays, approximately 75% of all employees in industrial countries are required to work in a seated position. Long-term seated position is suggested to have the relationship of health index in a report and 28% of office workers have chronic low back pain. It is therefore important for office workers to take a break at an appropriate timing. This paper presents a method using a machine learning to estimate office workers' seated-state with accelerometers installed on a chair and a desk. Experiments were conducted by changing the installed place of the accelerometer, and the accuracy of the results have shown 89.2% with it installed on a chair and 92.8% installed on both a chair and a desk. On the experiments of leave one subject out, the average accuracy has shown 70.8%. On the experiments by changing the sampling rate, the deterioration of the accuracy is only 6.7% changing it from 30Hz to 1.875Hz. |
