Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, services using IoT have been widespread. The IoT system is a bidirectional communication model between the device and the server, so mutual authentication is essential to mutually verify whether they are valid. One of the mutual authentication in the IoT system is TLS, but it uses public key certificates, so the complexity of management and increase of the processing and traffic become a problem in the IoT environment, where the number of devices is large and processing and communication performance is not so high. Therefore, as a new method of TLS, TLS using ID-based encryption using ID instead a public key has been proposed. In the ID-based encryption, the public key certificate is unnecessary, so it is possible to omit the verification of it and the process of sending and receiving it. However, the ID-based encryption performs one-to-one authentication between the device and the server, so we considere that it is more efficient to collectively manage lots of IoT devices. In this research, we propose a mutual authentication using the attribute-based encryption where a user can specify attribute conditions, and evaluate its performance with Raspberry Pi by implementing the proposed method. From the measurement results, we confirmed that the proposed method has practical authentication times.
