Abstract(in English) | Approximate arithmetic circuits are logic circuits which do not generate accurate arithmetic results.Approximate arithmetic circuits can be constructed by more simple logic. The simplified circuits have better performance than accurate arithmetic circuits in power consumption, delay and area. On the other hand, if we use approximate arithmetic circuits to our computing, appropriate usage of them is required acquainting applications and tolerance for accuracy of approximation themselves. In this paper, we focus on approximate multipliers, propose a novel approximate multiplier that can achieve variable accuracy of approximation, and finally represent several evaluations for the proposed multiplier. Our proposed variable accuracy approximate multiplier can be applied to approximate computing applications which are required to various accuracies without the other circuits. |
