Plane Wave Diffraction by a Rectangular Hole in a Thick Conducting Screen

Abstract(in English) A TE polarized plane wave diffraction by a rectangular hole in a thick conducting screen has been formulated analytically by a Kirchhoff approximation method. This three-dimensional hole structure may be regarded as an open-ended rectangular waveguide cavity. The total scattering far-field has been formulated in terms of successive modal re-radiation fields from the apertures of the hole.
