Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Spatial sound is critical to achieve immersion in virtual reality and realistic integration in mixed reality applications. Accurate rendering of spatial sound in the dynamic conditions of extended reality systems is computationally demanding and requires knowledge of the acoustic transfer functions from all points in space to the user's ears. We formulate an efficient rendering method, in the spherical harmonics domain, for the continuous update of relative sound source positions through simple matrix multiplications. In addition, the proposal can generate binaural signals using a small set of acoustic transfer functions. These features make it suitable for low-power extended reality systems.
