Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Spectral patterns derived from multispectral and hyperspectral data are useful to discriminate surface materials, but are also affected by factors such as topography and grain size. The topography effect is multiplicative, while the grain size effect is additive. Conventional band rationing and SAM techniques have been widely used to suppress the topography effect. We developed techniques; Modified SAM and MCR-900D, which can identify and/or quantify surface materials such as clay minerals and iron oxides by suppressing the both topography and grain size effects.
