On Suitable Pseudo-Noise Code for Optical-Wireless CSK-MPPM System

Abstract(in English) The author proposed a hierarchical modulation for road to vehicle communication. The CSK-MPPM system which combines code shift keying and multi-pulse pulse position modulation was considered. The system can transmits several types of data simultaneously. Because the generalized modified prime sequence codes (GMPSC) is used as pseudo noise (PN) codes for CSK in the previous work, the code efficiency becomes low.Thus, It is difficult to improve the symbol error rate performance of CSK.In this paper,the use of the PN code with high code efficiency such as the pseudo orthogonal extended prime sequence code set (POEPC) and extended pseudo-orthogonal M-sequence (EPOM) is considered.Moreover, symbol error rate performance taking into account synchronization error is evaluated by computer simulation.The comparison of three systems is accomplished;CSK-MPPM using GMPSC(previous system), CSK-MPPM using POEPC and CSK-MPPM using EPOM.Consequently, when these systems have the same number of bits per frame.The CSK-MPPM system using EPOM is the best in these systems.
