Optimal UAV Positioning for Interference-Limited Terrestrial-Aerial Communications in Rician Fading Channels

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we consider the interference-limited terrestrial-aerial communications in Rician fading channels. Taking into account interference from the interfering unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), we optimize position of the intended UAV of a ground terminal (GT) in order to maximize coverage of the GT. To the best knowledge of ours, we first analyze the relationship between UAV height and coverage area that considers both large and small scale fading in the presence of interference. We show the relationship among the height of the intended and interfering UAV, outage probability, and coverage of a GT via numerical results.
