Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electrical contacts are separated at constant speed and break arcs are generated in nitrogen in a 200V-450V DC /10A resistive circuit. The break arcs are extinguished by magnetic blow-out. Arc duration for the silver and copper contact pairs is investigated for each supply voltage. As a result, the arc duration for the copper contact pairs is shorter than that of silver contact pairs in any supply voltage.
