| Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose a new weight function of non-local means for Poisson noise reduction from an image. The conventional non-local means method can reduce Gaussian noise, but it cannot reduce Poisson noise well. In our proposed method, we introduced a new term for Poisson noise reduction to the weight function, and a correction factor for noise reduction strength was set to suitable value based on both the edge characteristic and the estimated noise amount of the noised image. We demonstrated that the Poisson noise reduction performance of the proposed method is an improvement of 0.6-1.3 dB compared to that of the conventional non-local means method by computer simulations. |
