| 抄録(和) | 中レーダ（Ground Penetrating Radar：GPR）を用いて台湾東部海岸での津波堆積物層分布を明らかにした。調査は台東県北東部の成功鎮近郊にある標高18～20mの段丘上で実施した。段丘は4千～6千年前に形成されており、泥層の上に円礫を含む砂礫層が分布する。500MHzと250MHzの周波数帯で探査した結果、砂礫質シルト層が散乱波の多い層としてイメージされ、さらにこの深さ約40cm付近にサンゴ片や二枚貝化石が含まれていた。サンゴ片の年代は段丘の形成年代より新しい値（約1700年前）を示しており、段丘形成後に津波または大規模波浪によって運搬・堆積した可能性がある。もし津波に起因するならば、津波は約1900年前以降に襲来した可能性がある。 |
| 抄録(英) | We investigated the distribution of the tsunami sediments layer at the eastern coast of Taiwan using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). The survey was conducted in the terraces at the altitudes ranging 18 to 20 m in the suburb of Chenggong Town in the northeastern part of Taitung County. The terrace was formed between 4000 and 6000 years ago, and the sandy silt with round gravels layer overlaid the silt with cobble-boulder layer. The result of GPR survey at the frequencies of 500 MHz and 250 MHz showed that the sandy silt layer with gravels was imaged as dense scattered area. The coral and shell fragments were concentrated at the depth of 20-40 cm in the sandy silt layer. The ages of the coral fragments in the sandy silt layer showed the values from 1847 to 1702 cal. yr BP, which is younger than that of the terrace formation. This suggests that they have been transported and deposited by tsunamis or large waves after the terrace formation. If the transportation is due to the tsunami, the tsunami would have occurred after 1900 years ago. |
