Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The purpose of this study is to understand how atypical neural activity in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) occurs, by constructing and simulating an atypical brain network in ASD so called “local over-connectivity.” We employed a small-world network model proposed by Watts and Strogatz to controlled the degree of local over-connectivity according to a parameter in the model. As a result of analyzing neural activity in the models, we found that a network model with local over-connectivity has excessive power in the high frequency band, which causes less complex neural activity than that of networks with long-range connectivity. We discuss that these results correspond to facts actually found in brains of ASD. |
