Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In elementary schools in Japan, Chinese (Kanji) characters that can be used in a class change in accordance with the year of children. This situation gives rise to errors so often in producing accessible e-textbooks or educational materials with a computerized manner. Text-to-speech engines or others to make contents accessible such as one for Braille transcription fail in their job quite frequently. To improve their Performance, as a primary survey, we have built up a database on all words used in elementary-school Japanese (language) textbooks, in which not-learned-yet Kanji characters are represented in Kana. Statistical analysis on them is also discussed.
