Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report deals with wayfinding behaviours of one congenitally blind person in unfamiliar space. We observe and analyse travel behaviours of three predetermined routes. The results of analysis show: (1) Travel behaviour depends on the precision of perception of clues and landmarks. (2) Directional relationship is clearly observed between the traveler and nonvisual clue or landmark. (3) Adaptive adjustment is not easy of either cognitive world constructed or travel strategies by the traveler. The results will help us in understanding the behaviours of blind people in certain situations.
